Dare to Dream Roundup - May Newsletter

To our Love Local Jobs Foundation community and network of supporters,

May was another cracking month, and we were delighted to deliver a number of Dare to Dream programmes to almost 2,000 amazing young people across Sussex, including the launch of brand new partnerships and some fantastic workplace visits!

With the final weeks of the Summer term ahead, we're pleased to say there are still plenty of Dare to Dream events to look forward to!

In the meantime, here's a look back at some of the highlights from last month...

This week is 'Volunteers Week 2024'and we'd love to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to each and every one of the 400 phenomenal business mentors we've had the pleasure of working with over the years!

Thank you to you all for volunteering your time, being there to listen and give guidance to the students, and for playing such an important role in encouraging and empowering the next generation of local talent.

Since the launch of Dare to Dream, our amazing network of mentors from leading Sussex employers have volunteered over 1,600 days of their valuable time to help support and encourage the young people on our programmes.

Words can't quite express our gratitude for your incredible support, energy, and the lasting impact you've made—and continue to make—on the Dare to Dream programme.

Thank you so much! We couldn’t do it without you 🙏

Take a look at what happened when students from Oakwood School visited the amazing Elekta offices in Crawley last month...

A massive thank you to the Elekta team involved with hosting not one, but two incredibly engaging workplace visits for the students from Oakwood School and St Wilfrid's Catholic School in May!

Have you listened to the 'Authentic Resilience Podcast' brought to you by our Founder and Chair of Trustees, Gary Peters?

Authentic Resilience has already built up an incredible lineup of guests, including Sheila Flavell, Paula Radcliffe, Paul Barber OBE and Damien Hughes, each with their own unique story to tell.

As a Highlighted Partner of the podcast, we're excited to be able to share these inspiring and empowering messages, not only with young people across Sussex, but with YOU as well!

A big thank you to everyone involved with the Dare to Dream programme throughout May.

We can only do what we do and support the next generation across Sussex thanks to the time, commitment and generosity that you’ve all poured into our programme.

We’re determined to continue making our work increasingly accessible, so if you’re able to use your network to help us go further please do pass on these updates on our behalf.

Thanks again!
