The Love Local Jobs Foundation celebrates support from The VINCI UK Foundation

The VINCI UK Foundation provides support to organisations that act to build social ties within the community. Promoting social cohesion and tackling exclusion sit at the heart of its mission.

The funding received has enabled the team at the Love Local Jobs Foundation to make essential improvements to the technology and equipment they rely on day to day. It has also strengthened how they communicate with supporting businesses, schools, volunteer mentors, and with each other internally.

These enhancements continue to help the charity support even more local young people to build confidence, develop the skills that matter, and connect with brighter futures.

Perhaps most special of all, the funding request was submitted and sponsored by current London Gatwick firefighter and former Dare to Dream volunteer mentor, Matthew Petts.

On why he chose to sponsor the request, Matthew said, “Volunteering with the Dare to Dream programme was an inspiring experience. Mentoring young people and helping them realise their potential was truly rewarding.

“Through the VINCI Foundation, I was able to secure sponsorship that will provide vital funding for Dare to Dream to continue empowering students and shaping brighter futures.”

Chief Executive of The Love Local Jobs Foundation, Paul Scrivens, added, “This is a wonderful example of partnership in action. London Gatwick, and individuals like Matt, have been committed supporters of our work for many years. For a former volunteer mentor to champion us internally and secure additional funding speaks volumes about their belief in our mission and commitment to the young people we serve.”

London Gatwick’s sponsorship of Dare to Dream in the 25/26 academic year is enabling 441 young people in Crawley and Horley to take part in the programme. In addition, LGW colleagues are contributing 200 hours of volunteer mentoring to help the next generation of local talent fulfil their potential.

The Love Local Jobs Foundation team are extremely grateful to everyone at The VINCI UK Foundation involved in awarding the funding, and to Matthew and the wider London Gatwick team for their continued commitment to the charity and the Dare to Dream programme.

As the VINCI UK Foundation fund opens again for applications this year, we are proud to share the impact of this support and encourage other charities and not for profit organisations to explore the opportunity.
